Priority education policies often focus on disadvantaged urban neighborhoods. Yet many rural areas face challenges that can be even greater, without receiving the same level of support.
It is precisely to respond to this challenge that Excellence Ruralités was created. Since 2017, the association’s mission has been to bring the best educational innovations, available elsewhere, to the most isolated rural communities.
It all began with a pilot school project in the Aisne region, the French department with the highest number of students facing academic difficulties. With small class sizes and personalized student support, Excellence Ruralités schools, accredited by the French Ministry of Education, teach all subjects from the national core curriculum, while also supporting families on a daily basis. The association has since opened a new school in Charente, and three additional projects are currently underway in Orne, Creuse, and Isère.
Because education is the foundation of every challenge we must tackle, The Cagni Foundation C4 is proud to support the work of Excellence Ruralités and to enable two additional students to start the school year in September 2023.
