The Cagni Foundation C4 helps expand access to knowledge for communities outside traditional cultural networks, alongside the association Doubles Résonances.
Since 2019, Doubles Résonances has continuously organized a festival of classical and electronic music across several locations in Auxois, Burgundy, the Pays de Gex, and beyond.
The association works in partnership with Monuments de France and in close collaboration with the relevant local authorities (festival towns and surrounding villages). It also operates at sites such as the Muséoparc Alésia, Château de Bussy-Rabutin, and Château de Ferney-Voltaire, in partnership with Monuments de France.
Around these venues, before, during, and after the festival, a free and open-to-all “Science Caravan” travels through the region. It offers guided experiments, interactive talks, concerts, and more, in partnership with scientific institutions (such as the CNRS) and technology-oriented companies (EDF, RTE, etc.). In short, these are multidisciplinary, mobile initiatives designed for residents of towns near the festival sites.
In 2022, the association approached The Cagni Foundation C4 with a project to increase outreach to audiences that are harder to reach. The three-year program we developed together builds on the existing caravans to expand actions targeting very specific groups: people with disabilities, dependent elderly people, and others. The caravans will notably visit nursing homes and retirement homes, as well as rural ESAT centers (work support centers for people with disabilities).
Through this initiative, the association fulfills its mission of sharing and spreading knowledge to communities outside traditional cultural circuits.
